about the artist
“When we conceive an idea, we don't just look anymore but we see. People without a well defined vision look; men with a focused purpose look and they see.”― Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Willie Morris believes everyone has unique gifts and talents that must be cultivated for potential growth. He is a multifaceted artist, who creates rich graphite drawings and colorful watercolors of whatever subject matter captures his creative heart and imaginative eye.
His skill set not only includes fine art, but visual design, videography, photography, 3D modeling, animation, illustration, motion graphics, AR/VR development, instructional design, curriculum and instruction.
Willie started drawing at a young age and since then perfected his drawing techniques to produce carefully chosen scenes with embedded depth and perception. Majoring in Fine Art under very experienced instructors, helped him to focus on applying the fundamentals of design into every work of art.
He uses the basic principles and elements of design to create works from the human perspective of what we see, experience, and imagine―all of which are spiritual in nature.
As a fine artist, his mediums of choice are graphite pencil, watercolors, and acrylic. He loves experimenting with color, texture, contrast, and monochromatic values. Subject matter includes contemporary installations and figurative symbolism meant to create a visual dialogue with the viewer. In his most recent project "Fervent Prayer,"
he combines realistic elements of someone postured in prayer for our government leaders, as an area of importance to see change.
